about the ride

Explore the vastness of Tokyo and make new discoveries about Japan’s capital city! Get comfortable on the saddle as you cycle around the city and visit the many attractions that make Tokyo so interesting.

Highlights
・Navigate through Tokyo, home of the upcoming 2020 Olympics! Throughout the course, you’ll see everything from the most famous tourist attractions to the lesser known areas frequented by locals. Hotspots include Tokyo Skytree, Asakusa, Jingu-gaien, Roppongi, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji, and more – all in one day!
・Ride safe! Not only will support vehicles and mechanics roam the course, you’re navigated by lead cyclists, medical staff are on hand in case of emergencies, and event staff help guide you towards the finish line. Bike Tokyo is perfect for first-timers to begin their cycling journey!
・Rest, hydrate, and fuel up! Three aid stations (tentative) will be set up along the course for cyclists to rest their legs and snack on a variety of Tokyo-centric treats. Bike Tokyo is more than a ride – it’s a ‘tasteful’ experience!
・Don’t forget! All finishers are entitled to a certificate of completion after crossing the finish line. Pick yours up before you leave!
・Rental bikes are available – you must select the add-on option during registration and pay in advance.

IMPORTANT
・Participants may move about freely on the course as their pace dictates. However, participants should not be ahead of his/her group’s leading guide cyclist.
・This event is not for experienced cyclists seeking a fast and furious training day – no pelotons, drafting, or timing chip.
・All children must be able to ride their own bikes, e.g. no children on child seats/carriers on the front/back of a bike.
