This year, Tour de Nippon is excited to partner with Samurai Sports for four cycling events: Mt.Fuji 360, Bike Tokyo, Ashigara Long Ride, and the Izu Peninsula Long Ride. This collaboration makes cycling events more accessible for everyone, regardless of their ability to communicate in Japanese.
With Samurai Sports, the information needed to register for, compete in, and successfully complete races will be in English. The language barrier becomes one less headache, allowing participants to race and explore Japan stress-free.
By making Japan’s bicycle events more accessible and offering English language support, Tour De Nippon hopes to introduce and invite the international community of outdoor enthusiasts to dive into the world of cycling in Japan.

If you’re a cyclist, you’ve probably dreamed of cycling around Mt. Fuji – here’s your chance! In just one day on your bike, you’ll witness most of Mt. Fuji’s most well-known sightseeing spots, including Aokigahara Forest, the Fuji Five Lakes, and Asagiri Plateau.
With nearly 1,800 meters (5,700+ ft) of climbing, it’s a challenge that will make you appreciate the sense of accomplishment upon completion. Don’t forget, the Mt. Fuji 360 is supported by numerous aid stations packed with a wide range of locally-produced foods, support vehicles, and offers an original finisher’s souvenir!

Mt. Fuji Long Ride

The Fuji Long Ride is an iconic cycling event that takes cyclists of all levels on an unforgettable ride around Mt. Fuji and the five great lakes. The three course options are designed to give any cyclists a chance to ride at his or her own pace and skill level. Along the ride you’ll enjoy stunning views and the chance to refuel on seasonal Japanese delicacies.
Note that the route takes cyclists around the base of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding five lakes (depending on the ride selected). At no point will riders ascend Mt. Fuji. The Mt Fuji Long Ride is partnered with a travel agency and primarily marketed for those who do not cycle regularly; you will not receive a comprehensive event guide or have specific insight about the course.

Explore the vastness of Tokyo and make new discoveries about Japan’s capital city! Get comfortable on the saddle as you cycle around the city and visit the many attractions that make Tokyo so interesting.
Highlights
・Navigate through Tokyo, home of the upcoming 2020 Olympics! Throughout the course, you’ll see everything from the most famous tourist attractions to the lesser known areas frequented by locals. Hotspots include Tokyo Skytree, Asakusa, Jingu-gaien, Roppongi, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji, and more – all in one day!
・Ride safe! Not only will support vehicles and mechanics roam the course, you’re navigated by lead cyclists, medical staff are on hand in case of emergencies, and event staff help guide you towards the finish line. Bike Tokyo is perfect for first-timers to begin their cycling journey!
・Rest, hydrate, and fuel up! Three aid stations (tentative) will be set up along the course for cyclists to rest their legs and snack on a variety of Tokyo-centric treats. Bike Tokyo is more than a ride – it’s a ‘tasteful’ experience!
・Don’t forget! All finishers are entitled to a certificate of completion after crossing the finish line. Pick yours up before you leave!

Ashigara Long Ride

Head over to Kaisei Waterside Sports Park just 90 minutes from the heart of Tokyo and surround yourself in nature’s splendor! With four courses to choose from, riders of varying levels will feel welcome at the Ashigara Long Ride.
Experienced cyclists will enjoy the longer distance and the added challenge of a climb reaching an elevation of more than 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). This year, the Ashigara Long Ride offers a 100KM course, along with the 120KM, 80KM, and 50KM courses. All courses feature spectacular views of Tanazawa Lake! Come for the ride, stay for the weekend!

Izu Peninsula Long Ride

Famous for hot spring resorts, rugged coastlines, and sandy beaches, Izu is a popular getaway for city dwellers and cyclists. From the coastal roads to mountain paths, there’s no better way to weave through the Izu Peninsula than on a bicycle!
Start at the east, swing by spectacular sightseeing spots, and finish in the west – plenty of tough climbs but pedal forth steadfast! Sustain your ride at aid stations stocked full of local specialties and a healthy spread of snacks from the mountains and open waters of the Izu Peninsula – treat yourself!
