About the Race

・Due to COVID-19 and the State of Emergency, the local hosting area has declined to host the 2021 Minami Izu Trail Race. The race organizer looks forward to welcoming athletes back in 2022.

Located on the Izu peninsula, the Minami Izu Trail Race is a unique race that mixes the trails with road running – the best of both worlds! Run along the beautiful 20KM course while feeling the cool ocean breeze. With total elevation gain of 744 meters (2,441 ft), it’s a satisfying challenge for suitably fit runners. At the finish line, enjoy some of Minamizu’s famous spicy miso soup.

Difficulty: ★★★★

・ Please ensure you have lodging and transportation plans figured out BEFORE registering for this event.

20KM (view course map)
Total elevation: +744m (2,441 ft)

Please note that the course map and advertised distance may not align perfectly. According to the race organizers, this is due to the fact that the area does not always ping well using GPS or GLONASS. Additionally, the course map calculates distance between several geographical coordinates that do not account for irregularities in the surface of the route nor changes in elevation relative to the idealized surface.

Should you find a discrepancy between the advertised distance and the map, you may reasonably expect to run a maximum of the distance advertised but may also find that the distance actually covered more closely resembles that of the course map provided.
