about the race
Celebrating 25 years! The Ome Takamizu International Trail Race is a long-running, grassroots trail running event organized by the KFC Triathlon Club. Take a break from the busy tourist destinations and visit the city of Ome, conveniently located just an hour away from the heart of Tokyo on the Chuo Line. A well-known stomping grounds for the city dweller seeking nature’s reprieve, west Tokyo is a great place for a day trip.
Out on the course, you’ll travel back in time to find hidden villages of old private “minka” houses used as a school for farming and agriculture. The area is also known to be a “power spot,” or a spiritual location with mystical energy. Welcome spring’s warmer temperatures with a run deep into the woods of western Tokyo!
・Difficulty: 25km (advanced), 14km (intermediate)
・Finishers are entitled to the following items free of charge: a race buff, a pair of compression calf sleeves, a downloadable finisher certificate, race photos, and a bottle of Coca Cola (500ml). No shirts or medals.
・Your failure to prepare and be informed does not constitute an emergency for others. Make sure to read through all of the event information below to understand the race details. Ask questions if you are uncertain.
・Ensure you have lodging and transportation plans figured out BEFORE registering for this race.

Please note that the course map and advertised distance do not align perfectly. According to the race organizers, this is due to the fact that the area does not always ping well using GPS or GLONASS. Additionally, the course map calculates distance between several geographical coordinates that do not account for irregularities in the surface of the route nor changes in elevation relative to the idealized surface.
Should you find a discrepancy between the advertised distance and the map, you may reasonably expect to run a maximum of the distance advertised but may also find that the distance actually covered more closely resembles that of the course map provided.
